California 9/80 Pay Rule
|
Weekly overtime: Employees who work over 40 hours during a workweek will earn overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. By default, the work week will start at midday (12 noon) on every Friday and end at midday (12 noon) of the following Friday. This will be the basis for calculating overtime for each work week. Employees work four 9-hour days, followed by an 8-hour work day that is split into two 4-hour periods. The first 4-hour period ends the first workweek and the next 4-hour period starts the following workweek. The employee then works four more 9-hour days in the second workweek and gets one day off. |
